The 11th McDonald’s restaurant in Lithuania will open its doors in a new shopping valley, NØRDIKA, in the southern part of Vilnius near IKEA this autumn.
“One of the most powerful global trademarks is investing in the possibility to establish itself in the southern part of Vilnius and contribute to its development. For this reason, this is good news not only for visitors to NØRDIKA but also for the residents of the area and the rest of the city,” Peter Gage Morris, the major investor in NØRDIKA, says.
An area of the new restaurant will be 300 m2. For the convenience of shopping valley visitors and residents of the surrounding residential areas it will have a McDrive which will be open 24 hours a day and will allow drivers to shop without getting out of their car.
A new concept of customer service that separates food ordering and food taking spaces will be applied in this restaurant. This will enable to ensure that food ordering process will be even faster and more effective for both the customers and employees of the restaurant. Every order will be processed individually, and the special display installed in the hall will allow the guests of the restaurant to follow the processing of their order.
Moreover, this is the second McDonald’s restaurant in Lithuania where customers will be able to order their favourite food and drinks by themselves by using modern self-service stands.
„This new concept of customer service is a huge step forward in developing the activity of the network in Lithuania and other Baltic countries. After adapting a new outlook and applying the latest technologies, from now on we are able to offer a modern customer service system in Lithuania. This system has been positively evaluated by millions of McDonald’s customers all around the world“, – says Vladimiras Janevskis, general manager of McDonald‘s network in Baltic countries.
The restaurant will start operating in the end of September or in the beginning of October. Investments in the new McDonald’s restaurant will amount to EUR 850 000, and investments in the entire NØRDIKA shopping valley will total almost EUR 50 million.
The centre, which will open in the southern part of Vilnius near IKEA, will have over 50 local and international stores for family and household.
There are currently 10 McDonald’s restaurants operating in Lithuania: 6 in Vilnius, 2 in Kaunas, 1 in Klaipeda and 1 in Siauliai.
